Namibia sealed a spot in the Super 12 of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup with a win over Ireland in a knockout game.
Namibia won the toss and elected to bowl first in Sharjah. Paul Stirling played well in the powerplay. He scored 38 from 24 balls with a strike rate of 158. Paul Stirling scored 3 boundaries in Bernard Scholtz's over. At the end of powerplay Ireland has scored an unbeaten 55 with no loss of wicket. At the eighth over Paul Stirling was out by Scholtz. This is the game changing moment for both Ireland and Namibia.
In the next over Kevin O Brien was out by Frylinck. Then run rate was reduced considerably and wickets were fallen on the other side. Weise is the game changer of the match. He pickets 2 wickets while bowling, 1 run out while fielding and 28 from 14 while batting. Balbirnie scored 21 from 28 balls. Kevin O Brien scored 25 from 24 balls. None other players scored 2 digits from Ireland team. Jan Frylinck picked 3 wickets and Weise picked 2 wickets.
Namibia has a target of 126 run from 120 balls. It was quite easy. Craig Williams scored 15 from 16 balls. Zane Green scored 24 from 32 balls. Gerhard Erasmus scored unbeaten 53 from 49 balls. Weise scored 28 from 14 balls at a strike rate of 200 which includes 1 four and 2 sixes.
Sri Lanka and Namibia has qualified for Super 12 of ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2021.
