Format & Rules: How ETPL 2026 Works
- Structure: Double round-robin — each of the six teams plays every other team twice (10 league games per side, 30 group-stage matches total).
- Playoffs: The table-topper advances directly to the final. The 2nd and 3rd placed teams meet in a single Qualifier on September 19, with the winner advancing to the Final on September 20. There is no Eliminator or second Qualifier.
- Squad composition: Each 17-player squad must include a minimum of 8 local players, 5–7 overseas players, and at least one European Associate plus one Global Associate player.
- Playing XI rules: A minimum of 5 local players (from Ireland, Scotland, or the Netherlands) must be in every XI, with a maximum of 4 overseas players from ICC Full Member (Test-playing) nations. Associate-nation cricketers — whether European or global — count as "local" for selection purposes, letting teams field extra top-level talent from outside the Full Member circuit without using up their overseas quota.
